Singapore Temper Restaurant Industrial Cellar

Asia PacificRestaurant2024

Overview

A 1,000+ bottle industrial-style wine cellar for Singapore's Temper restaurant, built entirely in raw brushed 304 stainless steel with signature rounded corners and a minimalist twin-rail shelving system that makes every bottle appear to float in mid-air.

The Challenge

Temper restaurant needed a large-capacity cellar that could hold over a thousand bottles while echoing the venue's open-flame grilling aesthetic. The design had to be uncompromisingly industrial yet refined enough for a fine-dining setting, with safe rounded edges for high-traffic areas.

Our Solution

VNICE constructed the cellar entirely in raw brushed matte 304 stainless steel, creating a dialogue between the cold metallic framework and the restaurant's fiery grilling atmosphere. Corner sections feature rounded arc profiles that soften the industrial edge and ensure pedestrian safety. Instead of traditional shelf boards, each row cradles bottles on twin parallel stainless steel rails — a flat-lay design that makes bottles appear suspended in air, delivering a minimalist library aesthetic at scale.

Results

  • 1,000+ bottles stored in a striking industrial-minimal display.
  • Twin-rail shelving creates a unique floating-bottle visual effect.
  • Rounded corner design ensures safety in high-traffic dining areas.
  • Raw brushed finish creates compelling contrast with the grilling atmosphere.
